Dream until it is your reality.
You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have-M.Angelou
Growing up I’ve always wanted to be an artist, but along the way I lost sight of the medium that best resonated with me. When I became a young adult I decided to let go of that dream and chase something similar that would also provide more financial security. I went after what seemed more practical. However God ordered my path to bring me to this very turning point. .
As I ventured into a career of print design in the textile industry, I felt satisfied with my decision because I was still able to be creative. Soon enough, I found myself naturally escaping into my own art direction; Beautiful watercolor abstracts, smooth blends of color, and figures with features left to the imagination of the viewer, began to fill my watercolor pad. In 2020, I lost my job due to covid, and while we were to shelter in place, I decided to take the time to reflect if I was spending my time doing what I love or what I deemed was expected of me. I began to create larger pieces, and received an outpour of support and favor from family and friends.
Painting restored an essential part of who I am—a creative, an artist. I become inspired by my very own emotions, perception of life, and my very environment. Having the ability to create what I imagine is a gift I’m happy to share. Art is timeless so in every art piece, a fragment of me is left within, that my essence may never wither.
Thank you for supporting my rebirth as an artist.
